Do you know that feeling when you are waiting for your suitcase at the baggage arrival and there are another 30 suitcases that all look just like yours? This DIY project will not only help you recognize your suitcase but it will turn a plain suitcase into an expensive looking personalized monogram suitcase.
This project will work best with a metal or plastic suitcase. If your suitcase is covered in fabric then it probably will not work. The vinyl will not stick and even if it does it will come off too easily.
Create your monogram with vinyl. You will apply it directly to the suitcase and you don’t need to use transfer tape unless you select a monogram with delicate letters (such as the initials on the pink suitcase which will require transfer tape).
It will be easier to use a cutting machine such as a Cricut or Silhouette but if you don’t have access to one you can still cut out the letters by hand. Since each letter will be relatively big it isn’t too difficult to cut each letter but it depends on the design that you select. When you select the monogram design look for one that can be cut out by hand. Some designs will be too difficult to cut such as the design on the pink suitcase.
Before you apply the vinyl clean your suitcase well. Wait until it dries completely and then adhere each letter.
